You know why I love America? Because I have the freedom to light a firecracker in my hand and watch helplessly while it blows up, causing intense pain. Yes, I am an idiot. I was explaining how the wicks on firecrackers are really fast and you have to light and throw. Well, I didn't throw it fast enough and it blew up in my hand. Now my thumb is purple and swollen, my index finger is swollen, and my middle finger is swollen and there is a bruise under my fingernail. The pain went away after an hour. It was really weird right after it happened. Whenever I would get my fingers wet, it would burn. Odd, considering I was putting ice on my finger. Anyone ever have ice give them a burning sensation?

Victoria, Elizabeth, Dave, Micah, and the others...I forgot their names already: Andrew maybe? And Lena? Correct me if these are incorrect.

This is a poem I wrote a couple minutes ago about some of the struggles I face everyday.

I hate this flesh
That rips at the seams.
I hate this body
So much I could scream.
I hate this life
Full of emptiness and decay.
Lord Jesus, take me.
This is how I pray:

Father, in the name of Your son,
I come to You, although my flesh wants to run.
I come to You, seeking your forgiveness and peace.
I run to You, rid me of this sin disease.
It’s always invaded.
I’m constantly hating
The way my flesh keeps evading
From coming into alignment with the Spirit.
Lord, I cannot bear it.
Take all this sin and shame;
Cast away the guilt,
I cry in Jesus’ name
Deliver me from myself.
Renew in me
My spiritual health.
Lord, I feel weak and it’s hard
To keep on fighting
This spiritual war
That keeps on residing
In my mind, in my flesh,
In my spirit, in my head.
Lord, please take it away.
You raised me from the dead

President Bush's Address

I thought the President gave a fine speech, except for the part where he said he didn't want to deport all the criminal immigrants. Wait, because they've been breaking the law longer than the others, they should get a chance to gain citizenship? And the last time I checked, fraud was a federal offense. I thought it was funny when the President was talking about reading and writing the English language. I hope the immigrants learn the words strategery and misunderestimate.

I saw Silent Hill tonight....wow. Messed up.

Then I was subjected to a sobriety checkpoint near my house.

I decided to write to Senator Kit Bond (R-MO). I also sent one to Senator Jim Talent (R-MO).

Senator Bond,
I'm not exactly sure if my e-mail falls under one of the preset subjects listed, but I will address this under "Drugs/Crime/Guns" anyway.

Sir, A few moments ago I was subjected to a sobriety checkpoint by the Missouri State Highway Patrol (Highway 21 S, N of Old 21/Meramec Heights). Now, I have been through these before, and I always left the scene uneasy. Not because I was tipsy from drinking too much (I don't drink at all), but because sobriety checkpoints go against our Constitution. Why? Because they presume drunkenness (guilt) until you prove to the officer that you are, indeed, sober (innocence). This is completely backwards from what our Founding Fathers intended.

I am against drunk driving--I'm against getting drunk period--but I'm even more against unwarranted stoppage of my vehicle by a police force. I believe things like sobriety checkpoints are leading our great nation toward a police state. I shouldn't have to be subjected to these checkpoints, and neither should anyone else. In addition, my car began to overheat as I was waiting my turn to prove to the officer I wasn't drunk. I was rather frustrated, and wisely kept my thoughts to myself at the time. But it is your turn to hear what I have to say. I plead with you to end these unwarranted checkpoints. If police want to catch drunk drivers, have them wait outside the bars, not in front of my house.

    My deepest apologies for neglecting the Xanga world. Circumstances and apathy led me to not posting for quite some time.

    Okay, now that's out of the way. I have a new job. One that doesn't suck. I'm working as a Network Coordinator for Webster University. It's a cool job. I'll be getting more into the mix soon, so that's exciting.

    More exciting news, I plan on starting an online radio station. I haven't set a launch date as of yet, but I would imagine all of the kinks will be completely ironed out by July. I want to go live sometime in early June, but like I said, no launch date is set as of now. My hope is to have a website where people can post on the message board about what songs they would like to hear, etc. The plan is to have this station be predominantly Christian with genres running up and down the gambit. Rap, Rock, Metal, R&B, Praise and Worship, and so on. Any genre, I'll probably have it covered, and if I don't, then the requests will come in. Most of it will be pre-recorded, as I will not be home a lot of the time, but I hope to have a live show every now and then. I am in the early stages. If anyone wants to help out, let me know. And it's possible this whole thing may fall through, so don't really get your hopes up. lol I'll most likely pull it off, though. Oh yeah! It will be called Fury Radio.
